EARLY PREGNANCY ASSESSMENT:
Pain and or bleeding in early pregnancy are not uncommon occurences and understandably cause considerable anxiety and stress for prospective parents. Occasionally they can represent the early stages of inevitable miscarrige or the presence of an underlying ectopic pregnancy. Unfortunately outside of normal 9 to 5 weekday working hours ultrasound based Early Pregnancy Assessment are often not available within the NHS.
I have a specialist interest in the assessment and management of Early Pregnancy problems.
The following services are available on a private basis to any women experiencing pain or bleeding in early pregnancy (5-16 weeks gestation) or those simply seeking reassurance:
- Same day referral and assessment in appointment based clinics
- Weekday evenings and Saturday morning private consultations
- Early pregnancy assessment ultrasound scans (with transvaginal scanning facilities for very early pregnancy assessment)
- Miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy management (ectopic pregnancies preferentially managed laparoscopically (ie. by keyhole surgery) where clinically feasible)
- Nuchal Translucency (NT) screening for Down's syndrome
- Cervical length screening (available for women experiencing two or more consecutive pregnancy losses or late miscarriages (after 16 weeks gestation)
- Recurrent miscarriage investigation (available for women experiencing two or more consecutive pregnancy losses)
