FIRST TRIMESTER NUCHAL TRANSLUCENCY SCREENING: NT scan alone £180*, Combined Test £220* (*Singleton pregnancies fees)
	The Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan forms a screening method for pregnancies which may be associated with major Chromosomal problems (eg. Down's syndrome). When combined with other scan markers and a blood test this screening method will detect >90% of Down's syndrome pregnancies. This screening test can however only be undertaken between 11-13+6wks.
In addition to major chromosomal disorders such as Down's syndrome an increase in the nuchal translucency fluid can also be associated with certain fetal cardiac and diaphragmatic malformations as well as in certain rare gentic syndromes. An initial scan result is immediately avalable at the time of the NT scan. The combined results including the blood test results can however take between 5-7 days. Mr Ali is fully certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation to perform Nuchal translucency scans.
