CERVICAL LENGTH SCREENING SCANS £100

The cervix is a crucial organ for the pregnancy and lies at the lower end of the uterus. Cervical length screening should be offered to women with a history of late / recurrent pregnancy losses, those with a suspected cervical weakness and expectant mothers with Twin or higher order pregnancies. It is now increasingly being utilised as a method of screening pregnancies which are at risk of late miscarriage or early preterm labour and delivery (before 32 wks). The normal cervical length should exceed 20-25 mm.

Such scans are best undertaken transvaginally and are in no way harmful for you or the pregnancy.
